Some family came to visit - April

Deneen, Sharolyn, Nathan and Trey came up for a weekend of fun. We started the weekend by joining them at the Hinkle Family Fun Center. We followed them for a round of putt-putt. Then we watched them do the go carts.

I think Logan is a little frustrated to be watching and not in a cart.
This dump truck ride did not erase the disappointment of the go carts.
Logan and I went home while the boys and their moms stayed for more games, bumper cars and laser tag.

The next day we all went to Explora. This was everyone's first time to visit this science museum. I foresee many visits in our future.
Logan watching the Rube Goldberg ball machine.
Now they are checking out the changing water fountain.

Nathan and Trey spent some time at the marble run.

While the big boys did their thing, Kyle, Logan and I went to the toddler room.
BALLS!

1st time to play with a light switch.
I will go down these stairs with a ball in each hand.
What do you mean I can't keep the balls?

Giving cousin Trey some love.
 On to the bubble room.

Hey, I was going to touch that.
I'll just make my own bubbles.
Deneen produced two great bubbles right over Nathan.
You go, Nathan.
We spent that night playing games (a typical pastime for Kyle's family). It was a fun visit. We hope they come back soon. Sadly, I didn't get a single shot of Sharolyn, so during the next visit my camera will have to focus on her.

Easter

This was the first year that my parents did not host Easter at their mountain home.  My mom had just had cataract surgery so they decided not to throw the annual family reunion. We couldn't host either since we were busy looking for a place to live, showing the home we were living in and packing it up to move.  Luckily, my Aunt Sally and Uncle Ralph volunteered. So the day started out with Grandma and Grandpa Neel coming down to our home. The Easter Bunny left a basket for Logan up at their home so they brought it to him.

I did make a cake for the occasion. I can't take credit for the design. I saw a similar one online, but I was happy with how it turned out.

After playing with Logan's Easter surprises, we headed over to Rio Rancho for the afternoon.
Look how beautiful my Aunt Sally is.
Logan instantly wanted the yellow ball.
The egg hunt began, and the first thing Logan put in his basket was the yellow ball.

So glad Logan didn't have to climb the umbrella to get that egg.
Logan did spend a lot of time going around giving everyone high fives.
Even though Easter was not spent surrounded by pine trees in the cool mountain air, we had a wonderful time with everyone.

Rewind back to March

We have moved into our new rental, are 90% unpacked, are over our 1st colds, and life is starting to get back to normal. So, it is time to try to catch back up on the blog. Here is a bunch of photos from March.

Logan had some new experiences during the month:
Logan learned to mop. I wish he would learn to wash his diapers.
First time to experiment with home made play-doh.

Enjoyed some time in the rain.

Music class was a ton of fun and it was always wonderful to see him do something new.

One of his favorite activities is reading! Mom and Dad love it when he picks out a different book.

Grandpa Johnson came for a visit during Lobo season. It was too short of a visit, but Grandpa and Logan seemed to connect.
Grandpa Johnson took some great photos that weekend:
Here Logan is dancing to the music Scout (the green dog) plays.
Frak continually demands attention, but she is quick to leave if Logan runs up.
Like Grandma and Grandpa Neel, Logan loves hats.
So glad you came to see me Grandpa Johnson!

We spent a lot of time at the park either in the sand, swinging, watching dogs, playing with balls, or attempting to play basketball with the big kids.

Quick visit from Grandma Betty.

Kyle inflated our exercise ball as a surprise for Logan one morning. Imagine waking up to this when balls are your favorite toys.

Straight for the new addition.
Never to early to learn to dribble.
Here is Logan showing Dad that this is a BIG ball.
Now for the small ball sign.

In March Logan got his 3rd molar and signed "Mama" for the first time (but doesn't do it much since he can easily say Mama).
