June - Part 2

Once again Frik was willing to let Logan touch her as long as she could be in Kyle's lap.  Frak, on the other hand, typically stays out of Logan's reach.

I made a cake for Keith's birthday. I won't go into all of the issues I had with this cake and the oven, but I think in the end it turned out ok.

More photos from an evening stop at the park.

Logan in my chef's hat that I got for volunteering at a BBQ back in TX. I sure hope he cooks dinner for me some day.

Near the end of June, we started feeding Logan solid foods. We are following "Baby Led Weaning", which allows Logan to lead the way, eating whole foods rather than pureed foods. It is a messy business, but oh so much fun.  We started with a banana then followed it up with some broccoli (steamed and with curry sauce) and roasted carrots. So far he has also had yogurt, flan, oatmeal, plums, spaghetti (messiest to date), rice, pears, peaches, cantaloupe, kiwi and strawberries. He really does love his broccoli.

Logan received his Jumperoo in June and just loves it. I'll post some video in the future of him bouncing around in it. For now, here are some photos showing that Logan has inherited Kyle's ability to make great facial expressions. Sadly, none of these show Logan raising one eyebrow, but he can do it.

During Logan's fifth month, he hit two milestones. The first is that he had his two bottom teeth come in. It seemed like he was fussy a few days and then all of a sudden I noticed (on June 25th) he had teeth. I wasn't expecting them, but there they were. Second is that he learned to sit up on his own. This proud mother has to tell you that Logan's pediatrician said that having achieved this skill by 6 months was pretty advanced. When the pediatrician went to put Logan on his stomach, Logan quickly put his legs out to force the pediatrician to set him down in a seated position. Now that he can sit up on his own, he really enjoys spending time on his blanket surrounded by his toys.
